Moving is breathtakingly easy with the Zapp, and the steering is fast and easy, which makes the Zapp equally helpful when navigating shopping racks or taking a walk around the block. Too Much of a Good Thing?
So far so good, right? Well, there are a couple drawbacks to this workhorse, and ironically the very things that make this stroller great are the ones that have the potential to break the customer’s back.
First, that collapsible frame does take a bit of work to break down, and it’s definitely going to need both hands so you’re going to have to get Junior in his carseat before you can finish shrinking your stroller. The Zapp can be a little worrisome in harsher weather conditions as well – if there’s substantial wind, it has a tendency to roll whether you want it to or not. Finally, the Zapp has no reclining feature, so if your child falls asleep, he or she will have to do it sitting up – highly uncomfortable. There is no storage space, not surprising as anything hung on the Zapp would probably make it dangerously unstable.
But honestly when you think about what it’s made for – lightweight travel walks for short time periods – it is as close to a perfect stroller as you can get. For the most part, the drawbacks only make themselves apparent when you begin using the Zapp for something it’s not built for.
That being said, the Zapp retails on Amazon.com for $219.99 – considering that you’ll need another stroller to take care of the longer trips the Zapp’s not designed for, is that a price you’re willing to pay?
